Signia is considered the “forward thinking brand” under its parent company, The Sivantos Group. The Sivantos Group is a giant in the hearing aid industry. Currently, a brand under the Sivantos Group is responsible for fitting one out of every four hearing aids across the globe. On top of being the forward-thinking brand, Signia also keep efficiency and innovation at the top of their list of priorities.

Unitron was developed in 1964, and has since remained focused on innovation and design. Unitron states it well when they call themselves “a global company that designs and manufacturers really great hearing aids”. The company attempts to create beautifully designed and intuitive hearing devices that are stylish enough to truly become part of the wearer’s personality. The Canadian based company currently operated out of over 70 countries and over the past three years has earned five prestigious RedDot awards.

In 1947, a group of investors out of Zurich, Switzerland decided to start Phonak - a company aimed at creatively solving some of the toughest issues facing those with hearing loss. Throughout the decades, the company has remained true to its vision, as it continues to push the boundaries of technology. Phonak expanded to the United States in 1989 and is now a truly international operation. Phonak currently operates out of over 100 countries throughout the world.

Founded in 1943, ReSound has spent the last eight decades developing innovative hearing health solutions. Since its inception, the company has unveiled multiple firsts to the hearing aid space, including being the first company to create a fully “Made for iPhone” hearing aid back in 2014. Recently, ReSound made the decision to expand its reach by partnering with the GN Group, a global leader in developing intelligent audio technology with 147 years of experience.

Widex comes from humble beginnings, however, the company has grown to be the world’s largest manufacturer of hearing aids. Although it is extremely large, the company is still family owned and operated, just as it was when the company was founded in 1956. Currently, Widex hearing aids are sold in over 100 countries and employ about 4,000 people across the globe.

Today, Oticon operates under a “People First” promise; a promise that the company will keep the people it serves at the forefront of all the decisions it makes. This is not a new concept for Oticon. In fact, the company has a long history of advocating for people with hearing impairments. Back in 1094, Oticon was actually founded by a man’s fervent desire to help his beloved wife live a life unhindered by her hearing loss. This passion to help people lives on throughout the company. On top of developing innovative hearing solutions, Oticon also operates the Oticon Hearing Foundation, which helps to equip impoverished communities throughout the world receive quality hearing healthcare.

Starkey grew from quaint beginnings in Eden Prairie, Minnesota where the company is still headquartered today. Today, Starkey operates under its founder’s original vision “alone we can’t do much.
